Job Description: Painter at Diego Beekman Mutual Housing Association

Diego Beekman Mutual Housing Association is seeking a Painter to join our team at Diego Beekman, a 1,200-unit property located in the Bronx, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for painting apartments, common areas, and exteriors in accordance with company standards.

Position Details

This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Paint apartments, common areas, community offices, and exteriors as scheduled.
  • Perform pre-painting activities like cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and plastering.
  • Apply paint textures to ceilings and walls using appropriate equipment.
  • Protect unpainted surfaces with drop cloths, tape, and masking materials.
  • Maintain inventory of paint and supplies, and transport materials as needed.
  • Keep worksite clean after each project.
  • Attend training, workshops, and meetings as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of various painting methods (brushes, rollers, sprayers)
  • Ability to read and write in English for instructions and communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills
