Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Ladson, South Carolina is seeking a Production/Manufacturing Engineer to monitor factory performance, determine manpower needs, and strengthen the organization’s production planning structure. You will develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and Lean practices.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing, preferably in automotive settings, with a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or other relevant degree required*
• 3-5 years of relevant experience required, automotive preferred; 6 years may substitute for degree
• OEM automotive paint shop experience preferred; knowledge of joining technologies (Mig/Mag, spot, laser) and process tech would be plus

Responsibilities

• Develops best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability
• Drive implementation of continuous improvement processes for Lean manufacturing
• Investigates problems, analyzes root causes using 8D Problem Solving Process
• Supports operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives
• Writes spec books; requests and evaluation of supplier quotations
• Supports design, documentation, and implementation of medium-scale manufacturing processes
• Assists management in manpower distribution to achieve efficiency goals
• Heavily involved in medium-scale projects from beginning to end
