Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Ladson/North Charleston area seeks a Production Planner/Industrial Engineer to define productive processes for line segments such as Body, Paint or Assembly. You will drive improvement initiatives, ensure standards compliance and support cross-functional problem solving for better quality and efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial manufacturing and up to 2 years automotive experience, plus ISO 9001 knowledge and strong planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Maintenance Engineering or similar.
• 0-2 years of relevant automotive manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and control multiple production areas.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Analytical, data-driven decision making.
• MTM Blue Card is a plus.
• Spanish and/or German languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequences of operations/working cycles for limited subsystems.
• Perform pre-planning, primary and detailed planning for sequences of operations, working cycles, layouts, processes, material presentation, production equipment and lead times.
• Change and acquire new production equipment on the basis of efficiency measures.
• Prepare target/actual comparisons of required capacities or product variants, present alternatives and monitor costs.
• Coordinate and monitor the setup, approval and acceptance of limited subsystems.
• Optimize and document technical processes for limited subsystems.
• Participate in projects and represent results and requirements of own area.
