Job summary

Toyota Material Handling is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize paint and powder coating processes, driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to introduce new technologies and standardize best practices.

In this in-person Columbus, Indiana role, you’ll become the technical expert for paint and powder coat areas and lead continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Associate degree with applicable experience acceptable.
• 3–5 years in industrial manufacturing; coating processes preferred.
• Proficiency in Solidworks/Inventor/AutoCAD/Catia for fixture/tooling design.
• Strong communication and ability to interface with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Improve production processes and drive efficiency.
• Identify continuous improvement activities to enhance safety and quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to boost productivity.
• Support environmental initiatives and community relations.
• Investigate and eliminate downtime in paint and powder coat areas.
• Improve process controls and standardization for best-in-class results.
• Apply Toyota Production System lean practices to improve material flow and reduce lead times.
• Become the technical expert for paint and powder coat areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
