Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Paint Materials Engineer for a 12-month assignment in Georgetown, KY. The role develops new paint materials, evaluates color/appearance, and supports cost/performance improvements in the Paint department.

The position requires a BS in engineering, strong data analysis, and experience coordinating multi-team projects. Travel up to 30% and occasional weekend work may be required; labor hours are standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science preferred.
• Proficient in summarizing data and creating charts in Excel; building presentations in PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead new color & material introductions to all facilities, from lab work through online testing and production approval, focusing on paint & resin shops.
• Establish process controls for new materials/technologies and align cross-functional teams.
• Lead materials-related problem solving; apply TBP methods to identify root cause and countermeasures.
