Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Raymond, MS is seeking a Paint Line Operator to receive, store, and distribute materials within the plant floor, supporting the paint line workflow. You will load/unload materials and ensure smooth material flow to and from the line.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with mechanical work experience preferred, and training to operate forklifts and other equipment. Overtime and advancement opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required, and mechanical work experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers

Responsibilities

  • Observes and follow all safety rules
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
  • Conveys materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed) from the paint area to designated areas
  • Will manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system, however never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
  • Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code after the painting process
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
  • Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
  • Working as a team is essential in the coordination of loading and unloading materials
  • Safe operation of forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment
  • Will work toward training in the various paint line stations to progress into the next progression role
  • Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Hunter offers $21.25 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. Some mandatory overtime.

This position is for our 1st shift (7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday)
