Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Raymond, MS is hiring a Paint Line Operator for the 1st shift (7am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday) with overtime as needed. You will load and unload materials, monitor paint lines, maintain clean work areas, and progress through line stations as skills develop.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and willingness to train on material handling equipment, with opportunities for advancement and competitive benefits in a family-owned American-made company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required; mechanical work experience is preferred.
  • Able to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow all safety rules; overtime may be required.
  • Convey materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts from the paint area to designated areas; load/unload materials from the conveyor system.
  • Sort and place materials on racks or bins by size, type, color, or product code after painting.
  • Arrange stock parts in sequence for assembly by others.
  • Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality.
  • Work as part of a team to coordinate loading and unloading.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment safely.
  • Train in various paint line stations to progress into next roles.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

What Youll Do
  • Observes and follow all safety rulesMust be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends as scheduled
  • Conveys materials using carts pallet jacks or forklifts if licensed from the paint area to designated areas Will manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system however never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
  • Sorts and places materials on racks shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size type style color or product code after the painting process
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
  • Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
  • Working as a team is essential in the coordination of loading and unloading materials
  • Safe operation of forklifts hand trucks pallet jacks cranes or other moving equipment
  • Will work toward training in the various paint line stations to progress into the next progression role
  • Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
  • Additional duties as assigned
What Youll Bring
