Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS is seeking a Paint Line Operator to support the paint line workflow on the 1st shift (7am–3:30pm, Mon–Fri) with overtime as needed. You will load and unload materials, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure safe handling of materials to keep production moving.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and some mechanical/handing experience; you should be able to read simple instructions and keep a clean, efficient workspace while

What You’ll Do

• Observes and follow all safety rules
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends as scheduled
• Conveys materials using carts pallet jacks or forklifts if licensed from the paint area to designated areas
• Will manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system however never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
• Sorts and places materials on racks shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size type style color or product code after the painting process
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
• Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
• Working as a team is essential in the coordination of loading and unloading materials
• Safe operation of forklifts hand trucks pallet jacks cranes or other moving equipment
• Will work toward training in the various paint line stations to progress into the next progression role
• Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
• Additional duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED is required and mechanical work experience is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts overhead cranes motorized pallet jacks or manual pallet jacks
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondences and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers
