Job summary

Toyota Manufacturing is seeking a Paint Engineer to support the Paint New Model team, preparing the shop for future model changes and backing plant initiatives.

Reporting to the Paint Manager, the role ensures safe, successful new model introductions and project completion. The position emphasizes engineering standards, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement within an automotive setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Plant level experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with technical specifications and equipment changes.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional problem-solving projects.
  • Willingness to work up to 20% overtime including weekends and holiday shutdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Provide technical support for paint production processes, equipment, and manufacturing systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on scope, safety requirements, and scheduling.
  • Participate in risk assessments and implement safety improvements and process enhancements.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to resolve process and equipment issues.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
  • Track project schedules, risks, and milestones and report to leadership.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation under supervision.
