Job summary

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi is seeking a Paint Engineer to support the Paint New Model team and prepare the shop for future model changes. You will assist with safety improvements, process stability, and technical support for production systems.

Reporting to the Paint Manager, you will help manage projects, coordinate with suppliers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, productivity, and cost metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher.
• Experience in automotive plant environments and equipment changes.
• Experience with safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement projects.
• Experience collaborating on cross-functional problem-solving teams.
• Ability to work overtime up to 20% including weekends and shutdowns.
• Experience in Paint department desired (TMNA or NAMC).
• Experience introducing new technologies to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Provide technical support for Paint production processes and systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers/contractors on scope, safety, and scheduling.
• Participate in risk assessments and implement safety improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive process enhancements.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and procedures.
• Track schedules, risks, action items, and milestones for leadership updates.
• Support evaluation/implementation of new technologies and automation.
