Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a passionate Paint Engineer to support the Paint New Model team, preparing the shop for future model changes and supporting shop initiatives. Reporting to the Paint Manager, you will help ensure safe, successful new model introductions and project throughput.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, plant-level automotive experience, and solid problem-solving skills. Travel and overtime may be needed to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or higher is required.
  • Plant level experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with technical specifications and implementation of major/minor equipment or processes.
  • Experience supporting/participating in cross-functional projects or problem-solving teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost performance.
  • Provide technical support for Paint production processes, equipment, and manufacturing systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/contractors on scope, safety, scheduling, and issues.
  • Participate in risk assessments and implement safety improvements and process enhancements.
  • Perform structured problem-solving and basic root cause analysis for issues.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures and best practices.
