Toyota’s Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Paint Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to support engineering functions of the Paint New Model team to prepare the shop for future model changes while also supporting other shop initiatives. Reporting to the Paint Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint department's objective to safely and successfully complete new model introductions and shop projects.
Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost performance. Provide technical support for Paint production processes, equipment, and manufacturing systems to help ensure safe and stable operations. Assist with supplier and contractor coordination activities, including scope clarification, equipment information, safety requirements, scheduling, and issue follow-up. Participate in risk assessments and support the implementation of safety improvements, engineering countermeasures, and process enhancements. Perform structured problem-solving and basic root cause analysis to help resolve process, equipment, and manufacturing system issues. Help develop, update, and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices that support process stability and knowledge retention. Track project schedules, risks, action items, and milestones, and provide routine status updates to leadership and team members. Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, automation, and manufacturing systems under general supervision.
