Job summary

Aerotek in Holland, MI is seeking a Paint Department Prep Laborer for a contract-to-hire arrangement. You will train across sandblasting, prep, priming, and painting with wet industrial paint, and move materials using a sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities include surface prep for adhesion, applying primers and wet paint, operating a sit-down forklift, and using RF scanners to track materials. 1st shift: 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; occasional early starts may occur.

Qualifications

• 1 year of forklift experience in an industrial/warehouse environment.
• Ability to learn sandblasting, prep, priming, and wet industrial painting tasks.
• Capable of working in a hot sandblast area.
• Basic understanding of shipping/receiving processes.
• Ability to learn and use RF scanners for material tracking.
• Willing to work 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. shift with potential early starts.
• Willingness to rotate weekly through paint department areas.

Responsibilities

• Train and work in all four paint department areas: sandblasting, prep, priming, and painting.
• Perform sandblasting operations following safety procedures.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring adhesion and finish quality.
• Apply primer and wet industrial paint per specifications.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials between areas.
• Support inventory movement and shipping/receiving tasks as needed.
• Use RF scanners to track materials and verify movement.
