Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, through its JLG unit, is seeking a Paint Prep II in Bedford, PA to wipe, sand, inspect and prepare parts for paint repair, and to plug and mask areas while using the overhead hoist to hang parts.

The role includes training others in paint prep techniques, maintaining 6S standards and safety, and operating forklifts, tugger, tractors, and related equipment as needed in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Tugger certification.
• Tractor certification.
• Telescopic Material Handler License.

Responsibilities

• Wipe, sand, inspect all parts, up to and including preparation of painted parts for paint repair.
• Plug and mask all parts and blow water and debris to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Operate overhead hoist to hang parts.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with 6S standards.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and compatibility with production standards.
• Assist in driving back defects to origin and support corrective actions.
• Maintain inventory by labeling, stocking and recording materials as applicable.
• Train others in paint prep processes and equipment functions.
• Operate forklifts, tugger, tractors, and other heavy equipment as needed.
