Job summary

Compass Palliative Care, a leading California-based palliative care provider, seeks outstanding Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants with experience and interest in palliative and pain management. Our practice provides palliative and pain management appointments for California-based patients in the Topeka area.

We offer FLEXIBLE DAYS and HOURS. The practitioner will manage a specific patient load under supervision and participate in ongoing training to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an NP or PA in Kansas.
• Experience in palliative and pain management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients in an ALF/SNF environment.
• Provide palliative and pain management to treat the patient.
• Perform pain management procedures as needed.
• Define and document patient diagnoses.
• Prescribe and refill medications.
• Educate patients and families on care and management.
• Notate findings and treatment course in patient charts and follow-up notes.
• Participate in departmental activities to improve training and outcomes.

The practitioner will be assigned a specific patientloadfor which they will be responsible. Our program is run by experienced and board-certified physicians who take pride in providing training and in-service education to their staff. They believe in the advancement of their staff as well as creating the best possible outcomes for the patients they serve.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assess patients in an ALF/SNF environment
• Provide palliative andpainmanagement to treat the patient best
• Performpainmanagement procedures as needed
• Define and document patient diagnoses
• Prescribing and refilling medications
• Patient and family education and management
• Notate findings and treatment course in patient charts, including follow-up notes
• Activelyparticipatesin departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals

Requirements:
