Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Columbia team. No experience is required; paid training is provided and certification fees are covered. In this role you will perform field observations, collect data, and assist with testing activities under supervision.

You will build foundational technical skills, work with supervisors, contractors, and project managers, and uphold ECS Core Values while growing in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Excellent communication and data entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 85 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
