Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Murfreesboro, TN. No prior experience is required, as you will be trained on-site to observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials at project sites under guidance of senior staff.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Calculate and reduce data from tests and sampling; assist with drafting and administrative duties as needed.
• Communication: Maintain daily contact with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report site changes.
• Training and Development: Receive on-the-job training and document findings per engineering practices.
