Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Murfreesboro, TN, is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician with no prior experience required. You will learn under experienced professionals, perform field testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, and collect data for reporting.

Paid training and certification fees are provided to support your growth. As you gain experience, you’ll be guided by senior staff and project managers, with opportunities to obtain OSHA 10 and other industry

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must lift up to 85 pounds and have a valid driver's license.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards leading to certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; follow guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards and testing equipment.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results; assist with calculations and drafting as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; relay changes and additional requested testing to supervisor.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for observations and testing; document findings with precision according to engineering practices.
