Job summary

Smith- Elliott- Kearns & Co. is seeking a Summer IT Support Intern to join our Information Technology team in Hagerstown, Maryland.

This paid internship runs March 1, 2027, to July 30, 2027, with an expected 25–36 hours per week of hands-on experience supporting technology needs for a growing professional services firm. You will work with experienced IT professionals to prepare and deploy equipment, coordinate user access, and assist with new hire technology setup and orientation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, IS, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deploy laptops, monitors, docking stations, and other equipment for new employees.
• Coordinate user account creation, software access, and system permissions.
• Configure workstations and ensure readiness for new hire start dates.
• Assist with technology orientation and basic user training during onboarding.
• Assist with imaging, setup, deployment, and replacement projects.
• Track equipment assignments, returns, and inventory updates.
