Job summary

Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc. offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program in Rochester, NY. Interns work on meaningful projects across multiple tracks and receive mentorship from managers.

The program includes development workshops and networking opportunities to bridge school to corporate life. Interns gain exposure to data and operations projects, contribute to real audits, and deliver a final presentation. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Business & Management; Mathematics & Data Science or similar programs.
• Preferred experience with Excel, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and proficient at working within groups and pivoting among priorities.
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (full-time undergraduate or graduate degree).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, creativity and flexibility in completing tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and verify audit information for the FEP IPA audit.
• Collect data, verify accuracy and compliance.
• Learn and participate in the Dental Claims audit.
• Forward errors to the Operational area and respond to questions on findings.
• Help compile month end data and participate in Ops Audit meetings.
• Sit in on audits with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs and priorities.
• Deliver presentations at internship completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per policy.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.
