Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in New York offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns participate in development workshops, are mentored by managers and work on meaningful projects across tracks such as Business Administration, IT, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and more.

The program runs from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August, up to 40 hours per week, with housing not provided. Remote work may be considered case-by-case.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment (full-time undergraduate or graduate degree).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach and flexibility in completing tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.

Responsabilités

• Reconciling the premiums billed and payments received each month to identify and resolve shortage amounts, premium overpayments, refunds or adjustments to billing as needed.
• Recovers unpaid premiums through collection efforts and handles negative balances, including escalation to external agencies or attorneys as needed.
• Analyze populations with negative balances to identify trends; review DLP inventory for completeness.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete assignments based on business needs and priorities; perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks.
• Create and deliver presentations at internship completion.
