Job summary

Excellus BCBS offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergraduates and graduates. Interns participate in development workshops, work on meaningful projects, and are mentored as they advance through skills-based tracks in a broad range of business and technical areas.

Interns gain hands-on experience with cost analyses, data analytics, and cross-team collaboration, culminating in a final presentation.

Qualifications

• Majors/degree programs include Actuarial, Statistics, Math, Economics or similar.
• Experience with Excel, coding (SAS, SQL, R, Python) and cross-team communication.
• High school diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment and good academic standing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate opportunities to reduce healthcare costs and improve value of care through medical claims analysis.
• Work with a mentor on key strategic projects and deliver presentations at internship end.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per company policies.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff across levels.
