Job summary

Excellus BCBS in Albany is offering a Summer College Internship Program for undergraduates and graduate students. It is a 10-week, paid experience from June to August with up to 40 hours per week, including development workshops and mentorship from managers.

Interns may work in business, IT, actuarial, analytics, and other tracks while delivering actionable projects and final presentations. Housing is not provided; remote work is considered case-by-case.

Qualifications

• Majors include Actuarial, Statistics, Math, Economics or similar.
• Preferred exposure to Excel, coding (SAS/SQL/R/Python).
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate opportunities to reduce healthcare costs and improve value of care.
• Work with analytics teams to develop cost-saving estimates.
• Support mentor and deliver project assignments.
• Prepare presentations on internship outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
• Attend development workshops and participate in multiple tracks.
