Job summary

Excellus BCBS offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergraduates and graduates. Interns participate in development workshops, gain mentorship from their managers, and work on meaningful projects across diverse tracks such as Analytics, IT, Finance, Marketing, and more.

Interns can engage in both technical and non-technical areas, with opportunities to network, learn business concepts, and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives within the healthcare sector.

Qualifications

• Desire for Actuarial/Statistics/Math/Economics or similar program.
• Proficiency in Excel and at least one of SAS/SQL/R/Python is preferred.
• Must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate studies.
• Maintain good academic standing throughout internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-team interaction.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opportunities to reduce healthcare costs and improve value of care.
• Work with mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete assignments based on business needs and departmental priorities.
• Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across different business projects.
• Create and deliver presentations upon internship completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per company policies.
• Attend development workshops and participate in track-specific activities.
