Job summary

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline seeks motivated students or recent graduates for a 12-week summer internship in Owensboro. You will work with the Commercial Services team on customer service, contract administration, and data analysis to support commercial operations.

You’ll gain mentorship, orientation, and hands‑on assignments, with paid holidays and a possible housing stipend if distance warrants housing near the work location.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age by start of internship.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Energy Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher after each semester/term.
• Plan to pursue a career in commercial operations, energy services, business analytics, customer service, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Commercial Services team with daily customer service and commercial support activities.
• Support the contract administration processes.
• Analyze operational and commercial data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Create, maintain, and update reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Participate in process improvement projects that enhance efficiency and customer service.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support commercial initiatives and business objectives.
• Attend meetings and gain exposure to commercial aspects of the natural gas pipeline industry.
• Conduct research and prepare summaries related to industry trends, market developments, and customer needs.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
