Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist invites rising senior nursing students to apply for a nine-week Nurse Summer Externship. You’ll work full-time alongside experienced teams at five acute hospitals, gaining hands-on clinical exposure and mentorship from a preceptor.

The program emphasizes developing clinical competence and preparing for RN licensure, with structured education sessions and potential PRN opportunities after completion.

Qualifications

• Rising senior nursing student in ADN or BSN program.
• Must have completed Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II courses.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the nursing process under RN supervision.
• Perform procedures accurately while supervised by a RN.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate patient information completely and timely.
• Engage with leaders, teammates, patients and families professionally.
