Job summary

Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2027 in Fort Dodge, IA. Our 12-week paid internship runs from late May to mid‑August 2027, offering hands-on experience with the EHS team and exposure to environmental regulations and data analysis.

You will support permit reviews, reporting, and environmental assessments, and gain insight into the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and SPCC while collaborating with operations

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an environmental or chemical engineering degree or related program.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2028.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance programs with permit reviews, reporting, documentation, and environmental assessments.
• Analyze environmental data and develop tools to improve reporting, compliance tracking, and decision-making.
• Perform engineering calculations and support regulatory reviews related to air emissions, wastewater, waste management, and other environmental programs.
• Participate in environmental sampling, inspections, audits, and monitoring activities to verify compliance and environmental performance.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects to reduce risk and enhance environmental systems.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams on projects balancing field experience with engineering analysis.
