Job summary
Koch Fertilizer is seeking a 2027 Summer Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician Intern to join our Maintenance team in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This 12-week internship runs from late May to mid-August 2027, offering hands-on experience shadowing instrumentation technicians and supporting equipment reliability and plant operations.
You will assist with installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of process instrumentation, analyzers, and control systems, and learn loop
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree or certificate program in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, Automation & Robotics, or a related field.
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Physically able to meet job requirements in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Shadow experienced I&E technicians and gain hands-on experience in maintenance and plant operations.
- Assist with installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
- Learn loop drawings, P&IDs, and instrument documentation.
- Support commissioning, startup, testing, and reliability initiatives with engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with team to maintain safe and reliable plant operations.
