Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship in Denver, CO. This on-site program is designed for college students to gain hands-on experience in Tree Care, Plant Health Care, Sales and Client Services. Starting date is flexible for Summer 2027.

Rate of pay is $22.00 hourly. You will join a climbing arborist crew, learn pruning and removal skills, operate equipment, and receive safety training including first aid and CPR.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must be able to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Preferred licenses/certifications in pesticides or related fields, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as part of a tree crew.
• Assist in pruning, removal, and related care of trees under supervision.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in hazardous tree removals and client service tasks.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
