Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks candidates for a Reliability Engineering - Renewables internship starting May 24, 2027. You will analyze fleet reliability with Bazefield/Aveva PI, support SCADA, assist in new plant setup, and evaluate technologies while collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Open to current students in ABET-accredited programs pursuing Electrical Engineering, with a 3.0+ GPA preferred. Hybrid work with in-person site commuting is required.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university pursuing an Engineering degree
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part‑time during school year (10 hours/week) in-person per hybrid policy

Responsibilities

• Fleet reliability analytics using Bazefield and Aveva PI
• SCADA support
• New plant setup support
• Perform component failure rate calculations
• Evaluate new technologies
• Track substation spare parts and risks
• Occasional on-site field inspections
