Job summary

Xcel Energy's Reliability Engineering - Renewables internship offers hands-on experience on a 7.5GW renewable fleet. You will apply problem-solving and analytical skills to real-world data, present outcomes to senior leadership, and collaborate with internal teams during hands-on training.

The program runs with a May 24, 2027 start date and may extend based on performance and business needs. Ideal candidates are current students enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering programs, available for

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in ABET accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) / part time during the school year (10 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person per our hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

• Fleet reliability analytics using the Bazefield and Aveva PI software platforms.
• SCADA support.
• New plant setup support.
• Performing component failure rate calculations.
• Evaluating new technologies.
• Substation component spare parts and risk tracking.
• Occasional on-site field inspections.
