Job summary

The American Red Cross in Des Moines, IA is hiring for a phlebotomy support role with paid training and no prior medical experience required. You will help prepare collection sites, welcome donors, and follow safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Starting rate $19.50/hour with variable schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include health plans, 401K, PTO and more as part of a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record required.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment; able to work long or irregular hours.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors to share the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming donor environment.
• Maintain detail-oriented workflow to meet goals and safety standards.
• May operate Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at sites.
• Adhere to safety procedures throughout the donation process.
