Avera Marshall Hospital in Minnesota invites applications for a paid Nursing Clinical Intern position rotating through Med/Surg, LTC, Behavioral Health, ED, and Labor/Delivery. The internship offers RN-mentored clinical experience and requires enrollment in a MN nursing program with campus course tuition costs.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a nursing program (CCNE/NLN accredited).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and team.
• Visual acuity and hearing adequate to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating nursing plan.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories, examining patients, and documenting status.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, medications and self-care skills.
• Evaluates patient care and updates care objectives and plans as needed.
• Maintains safe environment by following infection control and medication handling procedures.
