Job summary

IMEG Corp in Houston, TX is recruiting a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in design, analysis, documentation, and site observations under mentorship to support commercial and institutional projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast.

Qualifications

• Education Completed at least 2 years towards a BS Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• Experience None listed.
• Strong interest in design consulting and ability to communicate clearly in written and oral form.
• Preferred: prior internship experience in building design consulting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design work for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching project-related resources.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services as required by the contract services agreement.
