This paid training includes a UPMC-paid MA course, weekly clinical rotations, didactic modules, a cost-free MA certification exam, and an externship at a Central PA outpatient clinic.

Selected candidates commit to a 40-hour work week and a four-month training plus classes, with mandatory attendance, and a 18-month post-enrollment employment obligation as a full-time Medical

Aufgaben

• Send/receive patient medical records in line with HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals; schedule appointments; verify insurance and demographics.
• Prepare and manage charts; maintain filing accuracy.
• Prepare patient rooms and arrange instruments per protocol; maintain infection control.
• Check schedules, organize patient flow, accompany patients to exam rooms.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, preparing for exams; collect history and vitals.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs; assist physicians.
• Document patient information into the medical record; comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept of Health; uphold confidentiality.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors; other duties as assigned.
