UPMC in Central Pa is seeking motivated candidates for an accelerated, full-time Medical Assistant Trainee Program beginning Feb 8, 2027. The paid program includes a UPMC-paid MA course, weekly clinical rotations, didactic skills modules, a cost-free MA certification exam, and an externship at a Central PA outpatient clinic.

Selected candidates commit to a 40-hour work week and class schedule for 4 months, mandatory attendance, and a post-enrollment 18-month full-time employment commitment with

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
• Must be able to start February 8, 2027.

Responsabilités

• Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Obtain lab and x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information; schedule appointments; verify insurance.
• Prepare patient rooms and restock supplies; maintain infection control and cleanliness.
• Assist patients with transfers, examinations, and collecting specimens; document information in the medical record.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs and assist physicians with procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory requirements (OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept. of Health).
