Job summary

B&D Industries, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an IT Intern to support the IT team in a hands-on, entry-level role. The internship runs 10–20 weeks, with up to 29 hours per week, and pays $17.00 per hour.

The position is in-person and reports to the Director of IT, Kerry Bruce. You will assist with basic technical support, Microsoft 365 tasks, workstation preparation, and asset management while gaining exposure to enterprise IT operations in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNM student - Program related to Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Strong communicator who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing basic technical support to employees for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals, both in person and remotely.
• Gain exposure to troubleshooting of common hardware, software, and connectivity issues under the direction of senior IT staff.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Help prepare, configure, and deploy workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for new hires and existing employees.
• Assist with basic user account tasks such as password resets, access requests, and account updates.
• Support inventory tracking and organization of IT equipment, including laptops, mobile devices, accessories, and peripherals.
• Assist with documenting support requests, asset records, and basic IT procedures to ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Help ensure IT equipment is properly maintained, stored, and reported when issues arise.
• Escalate technical issues to senior IT staff as appropriate and follow up as directed.
• Participate in IT department training and learning opportunities to build foundational technical skills
• Follow company policies, procedures, and IT security standards at all times
• Physical demands include long hours sitting, prolonged computer use, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
