Job summary

Austin Industries is offering a paid 12-week internal audit internship that starts May 17, 2027 and ends August 6, 2027. The program provides exposure to audits, risk assessments, and internal controls, reporting to the corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX.

As an intern you will gain hands-on experience supporting audits across our construction operations, with mentorship from experienced professionals and opportunities to visit active project sites.

Qualifications

• Active junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Target graduation date between August 2027 and December 2028.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to commute onsite to assigned location.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industries is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with complex audits of major construction and maintenance projects to assess effectiveness of processes and compliance.
• Assigned audit program sections for completion.
• Develop workpapers and display detailed testing attributes.
• Perform interviews, document interview results, update workpapers and audit program steps.
• Meet with project personnel at job sites to complete assigned work and tour job sites.
• Travel approximately 10%.
