Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc is offering a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns will participate in development workshops, work on meaningful projects, and be mentored by managers.

Tracks span business and technology areas, with opportunities to present at program completion. Interns will join a structured program from June to August, with up to 40 hours per week and housing not provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work with creativity and flexibility.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams.
• Preferred majors include Business, Analytics, Finance, Mathematics & Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling the premiums billed and payments received each month.
• Recover unpaid premiums through collection efforts for groups and provider/subscriber negative balances.
• Analyze negative balances and DLP inventory for trends and completeness.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Deliver presentations at internship completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per policy.
• Regular attendance and ability to travel for meetings/training.
