Job summary

Aerotech in Pittsburgh is offering a paid internship/co‑op in Electrical Engineering R&D, focusing on analog/digital circuit design, FPGA, and embedded firmware. You will work on real hardware, gain mentorship, and apply your classroom knowledge to motion control systems.

Responsibilities include PCB debugging with Altium, C/C++ firmware, VHDL for FPGAs, and hardware‑firmware integration testing in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
• C/C++ programming strong; foundational coursework in circuit analysis or digital logic design.
• Hands-on experience with basic electronic test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Test, debug, and evaluate prototype circuit boards and electronic assemblies for servo drives and motion controllers.
• Use Altium Designer to modify circuits or design sub-circuits within a larger system.
• Embeded C/C++ development on real-time microcontrollers or DSPs; maintain bare-metal/RTOS code.
• Develop and test VHDL for FPGA designs and verify timing with Vivado or similar tools.
• Utilize bench equipment to diagnose signal integrity and hardware‑firmware integration problems.
• Document test results and validate design performance on physical motion control hardware.
