Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering program at an accredited college or university.
• Sophomore, Junior, or senior planning to attend graduate school.
• Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or above.
• Experience with at least one 3D solid modeling package is preferred.
• Experience with at least one technical programming language (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, assembly, testing, and analysis of precision positioning systems under guidance of an engineer.
• Prepare detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for parts and assemblies.
• Characterize error motions using metrology equipment.
• Use frequency response methods and vibration test equipment to evaluate dynamics and stability.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing steps.
• Collect and present data using software tools for presentations and meetings.
• Practice project management to define problems, track progress, and report results.
