Job summary

McLane in Northfield, MN is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn essential driving functions and gain exposure to warehouse operations as part of the developmental path to becoming a McLane Driver.

You will train Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30pm, with a fully paid CDL-A school on site in Northfield. Pay starts at $23.75 per hour during training, with first-year earnings projected at $80,000 to $90,000 and benefits including medical, dental, and vision.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL within 6 months of training start.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and file DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld, document receipts and temperatures, and ensure secure product transport.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and practical vehicle handling.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations and document deliveries.
