Job summary

People Creating Success (PCS) in Thousand Oaks, CA, is seeking a Direct Support Professional to build genuine relationships with adults with developmental disabilities. You will support community engagement through art and pop culture activities and provide daily living assistance in a supportive living program.

The role offers flexible shifts, a $20.60/hour rate, and benefits as you transition to full-time employment. Training for CPR/First Aid is provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in connecting with their communities through transportation, events, volunteering, and more.
• Support daily living skills: cleaning, cooking, budgeting, and light housework.
• Follow care plans and help participants achieve personal goals.
• Encourage healthy habits, hobbies, and social activities.
• Assist with personal care, medication support, hygiene, and lifting or transfers if needed.
• Collaborate on Person-Centered Care planning with participants, staff and management.
• Document shift and communication logs.

Employment Information

Location: Thousand Oaks

Full & Part-Time: $20.60 / hour

Flexible Shifts: Weekday & Weekends, Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, and overnight shifts

Your Responsibilities

• Assist participant in connecting with their community and assist in building lasting relationships via providing transportation, participating in events, volunteering, and more
• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties
• Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals
• Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities
• Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
• Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management
• Document shift and communication logs

Who We're Looking For

• Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset
• Someone who has a warm, respectful, and professional demeanor
• Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments
• A valid driver's license
• Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail
• DSP 1 & 2 certification (preferred, applicants who are not yet certified can take advantage of our internal certification programs)
• CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if applicants are not certified or need to be recertified)
• Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)
