Job summary

People Creating Success (PCS) seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered support for adults with developmental disabilities in Santa Barbara/Goleta. You will help with daily living skills, encourage independence, and support participation in community activities.

Position offers part-time and full-time roles with shifts including mornings, evenings, and overnights. A valid driver's license is required, CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Clear, respectful communication with participants and families.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living skills (cleaning, cooking, budgeting).
• Encourage independence, hobbies and social activities.
• Assist participants to access community activities.
• Assist with personal care (medication support, hygiene, bathing).
• Collaborate on Person-Centered Care planning with participants.
• Record progress of care plans.

Employment Information

Part-Time & Full-Time: $20.25 / hour

$10/month cell phone stipend

Flexible shifts ranging from morning, evening, and overnight shifts

Health care benefits and PTO available if you transition to full time employment

$500 Sign on Bonus ($250 on your pay check 30 days after your first shift, $250 in your paycheck 90 days after your first shift!)

Your Responsibilities

Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting

Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities

Assist participants access and participate in community activities

Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)

Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant

Record progress of care plan

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsible, and can assist in goal progress tracking

CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if you’re not certified or need to be recertified)
