Job summary

Vettedlance is seeking an annotation specialist to structure historical pages by marking text blocks, margins, headers, footnotes and images, and to determine the proper reading order. This role requires precise spatial judgment and comfort learning a new annotation tool while working remotely.

Work is paid per page or per hour under a part-time, flexible contract (10–40 hours/week). All compensation is in USD and rates are set after your test.

Qualifications

• Reading knowledge of at least one Arabic-script language.
• Good spatial judgment and patience with complex pages.
• Comfort learning a new annotation tool.

Job description

Mark up the structure of historical pages: text blocks, marginalia, headings, tables, seals and illustrations, and the order they should be read in.

What you will do

• Follow a written layout guide and raise cases it does not cover

What you need

• A laptop or desktop with a reasonably large screen

Contract

• Remote, per-page or hourly contract (independent contractor)
