Job summary

Vettedlance is seeking a meticulous language verifier to proofread and compare Urdu, Persian, or Arabic transcriptions against original scans. This remote, part-time role offers per-page compensation and requires steady attention to detail over long sessions.

You will review lines, fix diacritics and spacing, score work, and provide concise feedback. A short paid test determines your per-page rate in USD, with flexible hours between 10 and 40 per week.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native reading of Urdu, Persian or Arabic in print and handwriting.
• Proven proofreading, editing or transcription experience.
• Close attention to small details over long sessions.
• A laptop or desktop and a stable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Compare each transcribed line with the page image and correct every error.
• Check diacritics, spacing punctuation and letter joins against conventions.
• Score transcribers' work and write short, specific feedback.
• Escalate unreadable passages to a paleographer.
