Job summary

SSM Health Midtown OKC - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is seeking a Regular full-time Registered Nurse. The PACU RN will perform age-specific assessments, formulate nursing diagnoses, and create individualized care plans for post-anesthesia patients.

40 hours weekly, day shifts with a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program and at least 1 year of PACU/ICU/ED experience, with BLS HCP and RN licensure per state requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or equivalent licensing
• 1 year of PACU, ICU or ED experience required
• BLS HCP and RN license as required by applicable state nursing boards

Responsibilities

• Completes PACU admission assessment and develops a plan of care.
• Demonstrates knowledge to meet physical, psychosocial, and age-specific needs.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians and staff in a timely manner.
• Administers medications and treatments per policy and protocols.
• Documents progress toward outcomes and discharge planning.
• Communicates with patient families during PACU stay.
• Supervises team members and maintains accountability for care quality.
