Job summary

The PACU Registered Nurse at South Kansas City Surgicenter provides holistic perioperative care, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to optimize patient outcomes in the post-anesthesia care unit. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while guiding other team members to maintain safety and efficiency in a busy surgical environment.

Joining a dedicated team affiliated with St. Joseph Medical Center and related groups, you bring current RN licensure, BLS and ACLS

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Experience in Critical Care or PACU or at least one year on-the-job training.
• CCRN is preferred.
• BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate patient care in the PACU using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeon and anesthesiologist; communicate patient condition changes to physicians.
• Direct and guide other personnel; ensure adherence to regulations, standards, and unit policies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
