Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced peri-operative nurse to provide high-level care from admission to discharge. You will staff the preoperative holding unit and post-anesthesia recovery areas, monitor vitals, administer meds, and coordinate with physicians and anesthesia teams.

Role requires RI RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 1 year of relevant adult PACU/CCU/ED experience. On-site, full-time with on-call as needed; strong critical thinking and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Rhode Island or NLC-compliant licensure as an RN.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification; ACLS/PALS must be obtained within 1 year for new hires.
• Minimum 1 year of adult CCU/ED/PACU experience depending on unit.
• Knowledge to provide care across the life span with aging considerations.

Responsibilities

• Render professional peri-operative nursing care, review charts, meds, IVs, EKGs, and procedures.
• Initiate life-saving interventions and participate in care planning and evaluation.
• Assess, document, and communicate patient status; prepare pre-op and post-op care.
• Supervise nursing staff and train new personnel; uphold standards and education.
