Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. seeks a PACU Nurse to monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, track vital signs, and work with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe recovery.

The role requires a PA RN license, CPR/ACLS/PALS certifications, and preferably critical care experience. You will document care, educate families on home care, and support patients through recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state board approved program of professional nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania State RN license.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Certified in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
• Maintains licensure with CEUs annually.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients for anesthesia side effects.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Track level of consciousness during sedation recovery.
• Perform post-operative tasks like meds and dressings.
• Update patient files, charts, and medical records.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians and care team.
• Provide comfort and answer questions as patients wake from sedation.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgery care at home.
